” the dirt bike show was great for Q20. It was the first time we had been to a bike event and the interest was phenominal. Nearly every discipline would have a need for Q20 it would seem. Some people just couldnt believe our demo of a trailer board running under water after being sprayed with our oil. Many people sat in the Q20 racing car for pictures, the car was fresh from a 6hour race at Silverstone were it won in its class. We picked up lots of new suppliers and many many contacts within the bike world. We are looking forward to getting more involved in the world of dirt bikes in 2012″

Over 22,000 enthusiasts crammed the Show halls over a four-day period, providing a final attendance increase of 28 per cent over the 2010 Show. The combination of international and UK visitors and celebrities from a variety of sporting disciplines, coupled with product and team launches, vibrant exhibitor stands, constant on-stage entertainment, and the noise of visitors enjoying themselves on the free-of-charge activities all added to the family carnival atmosphere.

For many of the international racing stars, this was their first visit to the annual off-road exhibition and the warm welcome they received from the British dirt-biking public will surely ensure it won’t be their last. The interest from road racers was at an all-time high this year, with current and past Superbike racers such as Johnny Rea, Troy Corser, Leon Haslam, Carl Fogarty and Chris Walker gracing the Show. Consumer feedback too has been strong with numerous positive comments received by the Show organisers.

In terms of physical size, this was the largest Dirt Bike Show to be held at the Stoneleigh Park exhibition centre. The exhibition halls housed major machine manufacturers, distributors, service providers, countless product and static machine displays and retail stands, whilst two additional halls accommodated two new features, namely the try-a-bike arena and the weekend-only EvoShock Moto Jumble. To the front of the main entrance a Top Gear simulator and High Ropes climbing structure kept the hardy outdoor types entertained and the Suzuki Off-Road Experience located on the Stoneleigh Park grass catered for a steady flow of novice riders.

For the more competitive, the Fast Eddy XC Special, held in the 4×4 woods a short walking distance from the Show, attracted an impressive entry of youth, quad and adult solo riders, and as the weekend’s racing finished in sunshine, race organiser Paul Edmondson reflected on what had proved to be a great event. “I am really heartened by the support we have received over the two days of racing. The youth class was fantastic, as were the quads and both races today have been very well supported. Although I initially thought the course was a little bit on the short side, it turned out much better than my expectations and the riders loved it. I feel this was a great addition to the Dirt Bike Show weekend and have thoroughly enjoyed it, as have the riders.”

John Shirt at GAS GAS UK summarised “We use quality components on the electrical systems of all of our bikes. However, you can’t protect against all water ingress as it gets everywhere! Q20 gives our bikes a distinct advantage with its superior water dispersing technology”
